I hope you all have mastered, knot #1 – the basic overhand knot and are ready to learn another! The second knot of our 4-H Outdoor Project Knot Challenge is the basic slip knot! This quick and easy knot comes in handy for all sorts of things! I actually learned this knot years ago when I learned to crochet! It is the starting knot for almost every crochet project you can imagine. But it has also come in handy on several of my adventures outdoors as well.
I even used it to tie a shoelace across my tent in the Yukon as a makeshift clothesline to attempt to dry out my wet gear! It’s a secure knot when you need it to be, but its quick-release feature is great when a temporary knot is needed. Good luck with this one. Knot #3 will be coming soon!
